Our bespoke front end template uses two visible areas for menu navigation – if there are sub-menu items to the options along the top of the site, they open on the right hand side of the site.

This functionality is afforded by using a clever module that can be duplicated for any sub-menu and appropriately positioned as needed. In addition to the pathway (or 'breadcrumb') system, this extended menu module helps users know where they are by maintaining a highlight path between the physical navigation blocks – ie. the parent menu item can now always remain highlighted when a user is viewing a sub-menu item.
